There's been some backlash about the lack of momentum in Sonic Frontiers based on the footage that's been released so far. With one fan tweeting out "Dear Sonic Team, I implemented extremely basic momentum physics in only a few hours of code in a project I created in Unity 3D. Why can't you guys do the same for Sonic Frontiers?" And a lot of fans of Sonic are motivated because the backlash around the Sonic the Hedgehog movie led to a complete redesign and made the Sonic Movie a lot better. Sonic fans are very passionate about making sure that everything that is released for Sonic is better than the status quo.
The next bit of news for today is Geoff Keighly has edited and pieced together a hype trailer for the Summer Game Fest, which is going to be kicking off on Thursday. If you want to check it out, head over to The Game Awards YouTube channel and you can watch it or it should be on Social Media as well. And then hopefully we're going to get some really good announcements for Thursday.
And the last bit of news for today is the Silent Hill Remake concept trailer has been posted on the YouTube channel TeaserPlay and it has reimagined what the original Silent Hill game would look like if it was made in Unreal Engine 5. While this is not affiliated with Konami at all, it shows the amount of passion that is still in the Silent Hill community that would like to see the games remade or a sequel made. Hopefully, after seeing this, Konami can be motivated even more to pursue it.
