The Xbox services had an outage over the weekend which knocked out a lot of players from playing the multiplayer games, but also locked out a lot of players from playing the offline games because of the DRM system. And it led to a huge amount of complaints about should console be required to be online all the time. Now, the reason that these systems exist is to make sure and to prevent piracy, which used to be rampant in the past. And I'm sure it's all going on now. That's the reason they exist, but it can be very annoying if the services go down for a lengthy period of time, but I think it's something that we have to deal with, unfortunately.
The next bit of news for today is Evil Dead The Game is going to be launching on the 13 May 2022. It's going to be launching on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch. And it's of the same vein as Dead by Daylight. One person controls the bad guy and everyone else controls people who are trying to escape their grasp. I personally won't be playing it, but I am looking forward to seeing how content creators react to it with their friends.
And the last bit of news for today is Grand Theft Auto 6 is already breaking records. Rockstar sent out a Tweet back in February to announce that they are at least working on the game and that tweet is now the single most viewed tweet of all time in terms of Gaming. The pressure is now on Rockstar Games to deliver an absolutely outstanding game. I think because of that pressure, it means that the game will not even be announced until there is a lot to show.
