PlayStation have acquired Haven Studios to join the PlayStation Studios family. The studio was founded by Jade Raymond who was co-creator of the original Assassin's Creed games as well as Watch Dogs. It's interesting to have her talent join the PlayStation family. Also as well, she's apparently going to be working with PlayStation on upcoming live service games.
And the next bit of news for today is according to an article posted on Xfire, Ubisoft is planning a massive game showcase, showcasing upwards of 20 games. Initially, they wanted to showcase it before E3 to make sure that their announcements don't get drowned out by the other announcements of E3. But with what's going on in the world right now, it might be delayed to during E3 or maybe even after E3. We have to just wait and see. I am excited for a lot of these games, especially a potential The Crew 3. I love playing The Crew 2 and any information about Assassin's Creed or a Splinter Cell Remake I also would really welcome.
And the last bit of news for today is a new The Witcher game has been announced by CD Projekt Red. They released a blog post on their website speaking about how the game is going to be using Unreal Engine 5 rather than their in house REDengine. And also as well, they're going to be working with Epic Games very closely to make sure they get the most out of the engine. However, it does not mean it's going to be exclusive to the Epic Game Store, it will be coming to multiple storefronts. The first rumors of the next The Witcher game came out 11 months ago or so and it's nice that CD Projekt Red are finally able to confirm it. And looking at social media, people are cautiously optimistic about it given the rocky launch of Cyberpunk 2077.
