Hello, guys, and welcome. This is a special announcement because this is hot off the presses and this is so big I could not not make a video about it. Microsoft Xbox are buying Activision Blizzard to make them one of the biggest game companies in the world and a deal valued at roughly $70 billion. This link, which I'm going to put in the description of the video, Microsoft explain their side. It says "Microsoft to acquire Activision Blizzard to bring the joy and community of gaming to everyone across every device. With 3 billion people actively playing games today and fueled by a new generation steeped in the joys of interactive entertainment, gaming is now the largest and fastest growing form of entertainment. Today, Microsoft Corp. announced plans to acquire Activision Blizzard Inc. a leader in game development and interactive entertainment content publisher. This acquisition will accelerate the growth in Microsoft's gaming business across mobile PC console cloud will provide building blocks for the Metaverse. When the transaction closes, Microsoft will become the world's third largest gaming company by revenue behind Tencent and Sony. The planned acquisition includes iconic franchises from Activision Blizzard and King Studios, like Warcraft, Diablo, Overwatch, Call of Duty, Candy Crush. In addition to global esports activities through Major League Gaming, the company has Studios around the world with nearly 100 employees. Gaming is the most dynamic and exciting category in entertainment across all platforms today, and we'll play a key role in development of metadata platforms", said Satya Nadella, Chairman and CEO of Microsoft. "We're investing deeply in world class content community and the cloud to usher in a new era of gaming that puts players and creators first and makes gaming safe, inclusive and accessible to all." Basically, this is to counter, I think, the amount of drama that has been going on Activision Blizzard for a few months now and hopefully Microsoft can bring stability to the company so that they can focus on what they're known for, which is creating amazing games. When I saw this announcement I was like, OMG. Usually I only report one piece of gaming news or one gaming news video a day, but this is so big that I just couldn't not like I said, make a video about it. So let me know in the comments down below, what do you think of this? I think this is insane. We will see what this results in in the future and I can't wait to see other people's reaction to this who are specialized in each of the game categories, like for example, Asmongold when he reacts to World of Warcraft being taken over by Microsoft. Let me know what you think.
