Joe Ziegler, who was the Game Director behind VALORANT, has announced on the official website that he is going to be stepping down from VALORANT to work on a secret project at Riot Games instead, and will be handing over the mantle to his friend Andy Ho. Hopefully, the transition will go well. I'm suspecting that he's going to be working on the Riot Games MMO that's still unannounced, but that's just speculation at this point. I guess we'll see.
The next bit of news for today is Miyazaki who is the creator behind Demon Souls, Dark Souls, and the upcoming Elden Ring has revealed that he's not actually played the Demon Souls remake on PlayStation 5 that was created by Bluepoint Games. In an interview in Edge Magazine, he says, and this is very poorly translated, "It brings up a lot of old emotions, a lot of old memories, and this gets a little bit overwhelming and it doesn't feel like playing anymore. So I have not played the Demon's remake, but I am very glad to see you get this fresh look. And these brand new current-gen graphics". The feature in Edge Magazine is a good 16 pages long. And he also explained how there's some innovations that Bluepoint Games did for the Demon Souls Remake that actually quite impressed him.
And then the last bit of news for today is Naoki "Yoshi P" Yoshida, who is the director of Final Fantasy 14, has released a New Year's greetings, and in it he explains the issues of the Endwalker launch and then how it wraps up the story from 1.0 all the way till now and then his hopes for the future after Patch 6.1. If you want, be sure to give it a read. It's quite interesting to get his perspective on everything.
