AGDQ will be happening on the 09 - 16 Jan 2022, which is a speed running event to raise money for charity. A bunch of speedrunners come together to speedrun a lot of games and they generate as much money as possible, usually in the millions of dollars for charities like Doctors Without Borders. Because of the ongoing issues with the pandemic, they tweeted out saying "After much deliberation it's been decided that AGDQ 2022 will be online only for the health and safety of staff and participants. The event will take place from January 9 to the 16. Runners and Volunteers submissions opened September 24 to October 3." And they have released a schedule of 200 games they're going to be speed running for the event, which you can find at gamesdonequick.com. It's a really good event. I really like watching it and I've met some of my favorite streamers via the event as well, so it's worth checking out.
The next bit of news for today is apparently Red Dead Redemption, as in the first game is being remastered. Red Dead Redemption 2 has had a PC release and it's been upgraded and so on. But Red Dead Redemption 1 is still back in the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 era, so it would be nice for there to be an upgrade to the game. And with the GTA Trilogy coming out soon, Rockstar are obviously on a remaster stance at the moment, so it would be a welcome game to be remastered. I did play and finish the first Red Dead Redemption I thought was brilliant, so I would highly recommend it if you've never played it before. And hopefully we'll get news about remaster soon.
And then the last bit of news for today is Grand Theft Auto 6, which people have been waiting for, which feels like forever apparently is in development hell. There's a rumor going around that since Dan Houser left the company who was a co founder of Rockstar. The game was restarted and it's been restarted again. It's been restarted again. Apparently Rockstar feel at this point there's no point releasing information about GTA 6 in its current state because there is not enough solid information to show. Hopefully sooner than later they will be able to show more about Grand Theft Auto 6 because people have been waiting for it for a very long time. That's why people are getting angry and impatient when they see another remaster of GTA 5, for example, because they just want GTA 6. We will see if we get more information about it sooner than later. But basically it should have been obvious at this point why it's been delayed over and over again. There's obviously some sort of delay. That's why we haven't received information after nearly a decade.
