Activision Blizzard is being sued by the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing over what is calling frat boy workplace culture. So I read a little bit into this. So what it's about is that they conducted a two year investigation into discrimination at Activision Blizzard aimed at towards female employees. And after the investigation, they've concluded that simply Activision Blizzard is not doing enough to combat discrimination in the workplace. And that includes issues over fair pay, harassment, so many issues that they've gone into. Now, again, as I've had to say recently about the Ubisoft case, I'm not a lawyer, so there's only so much I can say. But just be aware that this is going on now. So we'll see what happens.
Activision Blizzard have also released a statement, you know, to defend the case, but it's a case of even when there is overwhelming proof against one side, they will always come out and say we didn't do it as exaggeration it's BS, whatever. So but we have to just wait and see when it goes to court. Simple as that.
Now, my take on it generally is, I think it's a good thing if people speak out against any sort of discrimination, oppression, abuse, anything at all. And but the problem is is that there would be a lot of people who would also be worried about retaliation. People have got mouths to feed, they have their livelihoods to look out for as well. And that would cause a lot of people to not speak out. But of course, this is a much bigger issue as well. And the take I'm getting as well from social media is that this is an industry wide problem. If we're focusing on the gaming industry and some people have said, for example, chances are your favorite game company probably has the same issue going on is just not been as widely reported as it has been lately with Activision Blizzard and Ubisoft. So we'll see what happens in the future. And generally I feel like usually in this gaming news, I talk about three different gaming stories, but I feel today it would be disrespectful to the people who are suffering from this. There's all about anything else. So that is going to be it for today. It's just literally what is going on. To the people who are directly involved with this all behavior. F#@!, there's no other way other words to say it. You are despicable human beings, do better, and also don't try and deny other people suffering in the wake of your flipping ego. Simple as that.
