In this FFXIV guide, I show how to unlock the Black Mage Job.Unlocking the Black Mage Job
To unlock the Black Mage job in FFXIV, you must first reach level 30 as a Thaumaturge and complete the class quest "Facing Your Demons". Then, head to Ul'dah and speak to Yayake in the Thaumaturge's Guild to start the quest "Taking the Black". This will begin your journey as a Black Mage.You can find the Thaumaturge's Guild in Ul'dah - Steps of Nald (X: 7.3, Y: 12.4).
Follow the questline, and you'll unlock the Black Mage job, gaining access to its powerful spells and abilities.
The Black Mage job was added to Final Fantasy XIV in the original release and remains a staple magical DPS role in the game.

After completing "Taking the Black", you'll receive your first Black Mage weapon and ability.
